Exotic Cuisine Choices For Wine Tasting

If you're planning a wine tasting event and you're looking for a way to make it memorable, one option available to you is to get adventurous with your food choices. There is literally a whole world of dining options available to you, and making a thoughtful and unusual selection will doubtless be appreciated by your guests.

One of the first things you need to establish is the level of formality your event will feature. Are you hosting a full-on formal dinner or a more relaxed affair? Some dishes lend themselves better to casual tastings than multiple-course meals. If you are planning out a full dinner, bear in mind that all of your courses need to build up into a harmonious whole.

If you're planning an affair with a theme, that might be an excellent jumping-off point for your culinary planning. Obviously, a night that has a particular ethnic or cultural focus carries strong food suggestions with it, but don't be afraid to get creative in your search for inspiration.

Remember to take your guests into account when you're planning out your cuisine and picking your wines. Is the majority of your guest list vegetarian? Are there any special dietary restrictions you need to be aware of?

It's also a good idea to keep the time of year in mind when you're making plans. Will certain flavours help to emphasise the present season? Your food choices can help establish certain moods and give you a way to "fine tune" your event's atmosphere.

Be realistic about your regional options. If you're hosting a party in a rural area, there simply may not be a lot of exotic catering providers available to you. Metropolitan communities certainly offer you more choices, but you can still exercise a bit of creativity in more isolated regions.

Before you start talking in earnest with caterers, make sure you have a fair idea of what wines you want to serve and how much you can afford to spend on your food. If you want to devote the lion's share of your budget to your wine purchases, consider ordering simple takeout fare such as Indian food. In my old university town one of the best places to eat in Loughborough for cheep Indian food is a Place called Paradise Fish And Chips as they sold great Indian dishes at about half the price of restaurant menus.

A wine tasting event gives you a tremendous opportunity to make a positive impact without emptying your bank account. Smart choices in both your wines and your entrees can deliver a lively and memorable evening for your guests and ensure that your hosting skills are looked on with great admiration.
